Mel is Edison’s resident connector, encourager, organizer, idea-haver, and “wait, let’s think about how this feels for people” person. Former coach and teacher, forever learner, she brings a love for team dynamics, business operations, creativity, and fun to Edison’s everyday rhythm.

Since opening Edison with J in May 2013, Mel has helped shape the heart of the company: thoughtful relationships, meaningful work, and a culture where people feel seen, cheered on, and invited in.

You can usually find her cheering on Aggie football, laughing with J, dreaming up a new idea, or hiking with their two chocolate labs.

Owner - Big Ideas Guy

J is Edison’s resident builder, dreamer, experimenter, and “what if?” person. His fingerprints are all over the company, from the early days of learning to roast coffee by trial and error to the creative ideas, handmade details, and problem-solving that still shape Edison today.

He’s the kind of person who can dream something up, build it, fix it, improve it, and then wonder what would happen if he barrel aged it. Since opening Edison with Mel in May 2013, J has poured his creativity, grit, and care into making Edison a place full of beauty, curiosity, and life.

Marketing / Photography

Sole has been part of Edison since the very beginning and has worn many hats along the way. Today, she helps lead our marketing team and captures the heart, beauty, and culture of Edison through photography.

Her eye for meaningful details helps tell the story of our people, our coffees, and the small everyday moments that make Edison feel like Edison. She brings warmth, creativity, and care to the way our brand shows up in the world.

Sole is wife to Grant and mom to her favorite little guys, Silas and Thomas. Outside of Edison, you can usually find her gardening, cooking, baking, or enjoying coffee with a pastry nearby. She is not trying to break the habit.

Head Trainer

Brooke has been working in coffee since 2014 and brings diligence, kindness, and care to every part of her work. As Edison’s Head Trainer, she helps support our wholesale partners with the kind of thoughtful guidance that makes people feel both equipped and encouraged.

People are Brooke’s passion, and she loves getting to be part of their coffee journeys, whether she’s training a team, answering questions, or helping a partner build confidence behind the bar. She received her bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist University in 2012 and also works as a realtor with Beaver Real Estate Group.

When she’s not helping clients, making real estate moves, or sharing coffee knowledge, you can find her reading, writing, or playing fetch with her mini Aussie, Juniper.

Green Coffee Buyer - Web Development - Strategic Projects

Brandon was with us in the earliest days of Edison, back when he and J were learning how to roast coffee one experiment at a time. “Trial and error” quickly became more than a roasting method. It became a whole way of working.

Now Brandon leads our green coffee buying, helps build relationships with producers and importers, and keeps a close eye on coffee quality, sourcing, and the stories behind each offering. He also jumps into web development and strategic projects, because Brandon contains multitudes.

Ask him about where a coffee comes from or why it’s special, and you’ll get the full story. Maybe several full stories. Plan accordingly.

Consultant / Team Morale Leader

Lino brings heart, humor, and a deep love for people to everything he does. He’s the kind of person who notices people, makes them feel seen, and brings energy into every room he walks into.

For Lino, soccer, books, poetry, basketball, and the Miami Heat make the world go round. He loves meeting people, learning their stories, and finding the little things that make them who they are. Big heart, bigger muscles, and always ready with a thoughtful question or a good laugh.

Head of Production

Roaster

Jessie is one of the hands and hearts behind the coffees we roast at Edison. She brings curiosity, focus, and a thoughtful kind of creativity to the roasting process, whether she’s dialing in a profile, cupping coffees, or chasing down the tiny details that make a cup shine.

She loves the part of roasting where science meets troubleshooting and creativity gets to join the conversation. Every coffee has its own personality, and Jessie helps us listen closely enough to bring out what’s already beautiful.

Outside the roastery, Jessie loves cooking, getting lost in the world of The Lord of the Rings, and bringing the same sense of care and imagination to everyday life that she brings to coffee. You can usually find her near the roaster, at the cupping table, or quietly making something better than it was a few minutes ago.

Production / Quality Control

Ethan is one of the newer additions to the Edison team. He began part-time as our production assistant, learning the production cycle from labeling bags and bagging coffee to shipping out orders and doing deliveries. Since becoming full-time, he has enjoyed jumping into QC and brewing, helping with marketing and social media content, and supporting wholesale relationships.

Ultimately, his passion is people, so it is no wonder he does all he can to do his best for Edison, its team, and its community.

Apart from work, Ethan is a very passionate guy with a variety of interests, including, but certainly not limited to: film/movies, coffee obviously, music, sports, the Boston Red Sox, nature, interior decor, and faith/philosophy. He enjoys talking to people and getting to know who they truly are. If you swing by the roastery, he’ll be happy to talk about any of these things, or something completely random.
