We get it—coffee is a ritual, a hobby, a whole experience. And sometimes, you want all that joy without the buzz. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce our latest decaf: Ethiopia Sidama. Producer, Biru Bekele, has over 20 years of experience working in coffee, and has built a legacy in coffee that extends throughout the industry. We believe that this coffee successfully offers a rich decaf experience without compromising on the flavors inherent in a washed Ethiopian.
The process used in creating this decaf coffee is referred to as Swiss Water Process (SWP). The Swiss Water Process is a chemical-free method of decaffeinating coffee that uses pure water from the mountains. The process begins by soaking green coffee beans in water to extract caffeine while preserving the coffee’s natural flavors. A proprietary carbon filter then removes the caffeine, leaving the flavor compounds intact. This method is 99.9% caffeine-free and maintains the integrity of the coffee’s taste, making it a preferred choice for specialty coffee.
