We are so happy to finally share this group project from our partner, Primavera Coffee. A collaborative solution for the coffees that didn’t quite find a place in the market on their own. With this co-op model, this group of producers are able to find a sustainable way to use their lots to complement one another’s coffees within their small region. We can all take a lesson from this approach. Together is better. The flavor profile is very balanced and consistently so. We’re tasting a nice acidity comparable to green apples and pears, balanced by the rich notes of caramel and brown sugar.
We got the chance to visit Huehuetenango back in 2018, and we not only found great coffee but we met wonderful people immersed in a deep culture. Life moves at a slower speed in Huehue, and conversation can’t help but be influenced by a greater understanding of what’s important in life: family, hard work, and rest.
The Primavera Family lot was created with 15 producers in the Huehuetenango region. The quality of these lots were better suited to a balanced regional blend than to offer as single micro-lots, and sometimes the lots themselves are too small to stand alone as micro-lots. Primavera purchases these coffees to offer a wider range of quality, and producers can sell more of their coffee for a better price, enabling them to invest in their farms and wet mills. They are constantly working with their producers to help improve the quality and productivity of their farms. The hope is that in the future, they can sell more of these lots as single-farm coffees.
Orders placed Sun-Thu will go out the next day!
